RARE Original Vintage Historic Photo

Circa 1945

Stunning vintage TYPE I Walt Disney Portrait  Photo used to promote the making of his 1951 masterpiece,  "Alice in Wonderland".    From a recent Walt Disney discovery of six vintage photos,   These are truly very rare historic behind-the-scenes photos which we have never seen before and are most likely the only ones that exist. 

NOTE:    While "Alice in Wonderland" was released in 1951,  production began in 1946 and was conceived by Disney probably early 40s or late 1930s.  Hence, these photos which capture early animation work long before production began are from early-mid 1940s.   Which is even more evident in Mr Disney's young appearance as he appears to be late 30s, early 40s in these photos.

NOTE:  We recently acquired a Rare Walt Disney Collection of six behind-the-scenes black and white, vintage silver gelatin, single weight glossy finish photos from the making of Walt Disney's Alice in Wonderland. Three of the striking vintage photos are portraits of Disney himself for "Alice in Wonderland" promotion  (this one), while the others are of Disney aiding in the film's production.    

We are offering these amazing Disney Type I photos individually.    Below we included an image of one of the back of the photos with typed provenance for this collection.    The particular photo does not have the typed snippet on back,  but to show the provenence of all six we acquired are from this vintage 1951  “Alice in Wonderland” Collection.

Guaranteed Authentic TYPE I photo

Alice in Wonderland (RKO, 1951). Very Fine.   Portrait Promo Photo  (7.75" X 9.5") .   Photos circa 1945
Starring the voices of Kathryn Beaumont, Ed Wynn, Richard Haydn, Sterling Holloway, Jerry Colonna, and Verna Felton. Directed by Clyde Geronimi, Wilfred Jackson, and Hamilton Luske.  Unrestored photo with bright color and a clean overall appearances. They may have general signs of use, such as light edge and corner wear, soft creases, slight surface indentations. The verso of each photo has small strips of paper tape adhesive remnants.   On the verso of two of the photos are studio captions detailing Disney's input (not this portrait photo).  A Walt Disney production.
